The heart and soul of the N-Gage experience, the N-Gage application is a software program on your N-Gage compatible device that allows you to discover, download, and manage your games, communicate with other Players, and keep track of your progress.

N-Gage compatible
 

A numeric code you may need to enter within a game trial to unlock the game after you've made a purchase. The code is sent through e-mail, and you should save the e-mail in case you need to reinstall your game and re-activate it. For most purchases, the game is activated through the purchasing process.

An N-Gage compatible device is a Nokia mobile device on which you can install the N-Gage application and start playing. All N-Gage compatible devices are listed on our Compatible Devices page.

N-Gage Player Name
 
N-Gage Arena is a place to meet other Players for a friendly online chat or a challenging multiplayer game.

Your Player Name is a unique online handle that is your identity in the N-Gage community. It is easy to get an N-Gage Player Name: simply submit your email address and create a Player Name and password. You can use your Player Name to log onto the N-Gage website, the Forums, and the online features of the N-Gage application and games.

N-Gage Points
 

This public Chatroom, accessible through our Forums, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Check the Events Calendar for regularly scheduled chats or drop in to say hi.

 You can earn N-Gage Points in three ways. Points earned in single-player mode are called Solo Points, and are awarded at different progress points throughout the game called N-Gage Point Pickups. Points you earn while playing online with others are called Multiplayer Points. Finally, you can earn Arena Points by participating in community events called N-Gage Point Activities. All three types of points combine to form your N-Gage Points total.

This preview application came pre-installed on a number of Nokia devices before the launch of the N-Gage application itself. It includes game demos to try and quick links to check the availability of and download the N-Gage application.

By earning N-Gage Points throughout your gaming career, you will reach higher and higher N-Gage Point Levels. These are a simple way to gauge how experienced an N-Gage Player you are.

N-Gage Point Pickups
 
The original N-Gage offering released in 2003. It centered on two dedicated gaming devices known as the N-Gage game deck and the N-Gage QD game deck. Information and support for first generation N-Gage games can be found here. Point Pickups are checkpoints or events that you can earn Points by reaching in the single-player mode of an N-Gage game. By completing the single-player mode of a game, you will earn many Solo Points, although some games may not award all of your Solo Points until you unlock certain secrets, for example.

Another N-Gage Player who has accepted your Friends List Invitation and has been added to your Friends List.

Track your scores on our global leader boards and find out how you stack up against other N-Gage Players. Each game will track different Rankings depending on the game design, whether it's the fastest lap time on the Monte Carlo track or the best golf score on the back nine.
 
Game Demo
 
 
Rep
 
A game demo is only a sample of a full N-Gage game, and may be available outside of the N-Gage application’s Showroom (pre-installed on your device, for example) or before the full version of a game is released. Unlike a trial version, it cannot be unlocked by purchasing an Activation Code.

Your Rep is an indicator of your online reputation within the N-Gage community. By playing fairly and being a good sport, you'll encourage other Players to give you a high rating, thus increasing your overall Rep. Another good way to increase your Rep is to have lots of Friends and rate other Players.

Game Extras are downloadable items that enhance an existing game. Depending on the title, they can include new levels, vehicles, and weapons.

S60 is a software platform on Nokia devices that uses the Symbian operating system.
 
Game Trial
 
 
Showroom
 
A game trial is a full version of an N-Gage game, downloaded through our Showroom, but limited in such a way that you only get a sample of the game. You may unlock the full version by purchasing an Activation Code. The Showroom is a feature on the N-Gage.com website that allows you to download free game trials as well as purchase limited or full versions of the game, similar to the Store tab within the N-Gage application itself.
