MICHAEL SMITH

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

A born entrepreneur, Michael has founded and managed more than 20 companies worldwide.

Following his passions, Michael’s success spans across many industries including, financial services, real estate and land development, energy, private health care, as well as individualized medicine and technologies to support advancements in wellness. 

A onetime serious amateur athlete and long time friend to many professional athletes and entertainers, Michael has a deep understanding of what the career highs and  post-career struggles are like for many top performers, prompting him to create NGAGE.

BLAKE ARMSTRONG

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

Graduating from Queen's University School of Business, Blake has worked with some of the biggest brands in the world, from Disney and Nickelodeon, to Pepsi, evian, L'Oreal, Unilever, Nissan, BlackBerry and the National Hockey League, to name a few.

After rapidly climbing the advertising ranks, Blake followed his entrepreneurial instincts in late 2009. For five years, he served as Partner and President of Toronto's boutique marketing agency Salt & Pepper before selling his business in 2014.

With a background in sports and entertainment, Blake has worked with many of Canada's top entertainers and athletes. 

MARK CONKLIN

VICE PRESIDENT, NGAGE MUSIC

An award-winning singer, songwriter, performer, and producer, Mark is a rare breed, pairing his musical talent with his broad business and management expertise specializing in indie music and DIY artists. 

He founded the full service music and entertainment company Music City East in 2011 and quickly developed then teen YouTube sensation, Mree (Nettwerk Records) into an indie music darling securing placements on national TV Commercials (Target) and major TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Bones, Beauty and the Beast to name a few.   

His roster of clients has independently released music that has collectively been streamed over 100 million times and their combined video views exceed 50 million.  

JOSH SARUBIN

DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE, NGAGE MUSIC

Josh is an accomplished senior executive with 25 years success in identifying, developing and branding talent.  He has spent time at Columbia Records, Arista Records, Island Def Jam Records, Sony ATV Music Publishing and most recently, Secret Road Music. His acts have sold over 40 million albums worldwide.

He has worked in most genres of music (including pop, rock, urban, and country) on the indie, publishing and labels sides have provided Josh great perspective and vision for what an artist is and can be. 

His successes include Lady Gaga, Avril Lavigne, Santana, Pink, Lionel Richie, Presidents of the United States of America, Stabbing Westward, Butch Walker, Pixie Lott, and Ingrid Michaelson.

RICH NARDO

DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS & CREATIVE, NGAGENCY

Rich Nardo has worked in the music industry for almost a decade and holds a BA in Business Management from Loyola University in Maryland, as well as, an MBA in the same concentration from Hofstra University in New York.

Before joining NGAGE, Rich was a co-founder of the entertainment marketing firm 24West where he ran campaigns for a wide array of artists including Cold War Kids, Camila Cabello, Mutemath and Say Anything. Before starting 24West, Rich was a project manager for Zero To Sixty Group where he worked in a marketing capacity for albums from Alabama Shakes, Dave Matthews Band, Ben Harper, Coheed & Cambria and Primus.

Rich is also a freelance writer whose work has been featured on Buzzfeed, Tunecore, Hypebot, Linkedin Pulse, Big Blue United and Paste Magazine. He has penned bios for artists including Tyler Lyle, SWIMM, Simon Doom and Young Buffalo.

Theresa Montgomery

DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL & SOCIAL STRATEGY, NGAGENCY

Theresa Montgomery joined the NGAGE team in May 2017 as the Director of Digital and Social Strategy. Previously, she was partner and co-founder of 24West Marketing, a full-service digital marketing agency. At 24West, Theresa worked with clients such as Camila Cabello, Mutemath, Say Anything, Emmi, and many more.

Focusing on digital public relations, social media analysis and strategy, and asset and web creation, she worked with acts of all sizes to enhance their brand and expand their fanbase. Theresa began her career at Sony Music as a Sales Coordinator for the National Sales team. After only a year, she was promoted to the role of Merchandising Manager, where she oversaw all physical marketing tools for the labels under Sony. This allowed her to work on campaigns for artists such as Adele, Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, Walk the Moon, Daft Punk, J. Cole, and many more. Theresa graduated with honors from Hofstra University with a B.S. in Music Business.
